Sniester festival started in 2014 as a dream project of a few programmer friends from The Hague. Sick of the same list of expensive, but not necessarily good names on every festival poster, they thought the time was ripe for a festival where there was only room for quality and originality. Sniester had to be an ode to the really good alternative act.
Sniester has now become a regular fixture on the Dutch festival calendar. Some 90 national and international acts, together with thousands of visitors, race through the clubs & cafés in The Hague's Pop District, the musical heart of the city. A weekend bursting with high-energy performances, where something beautiful happens everywhere you go.
Many memorable shows later, a bigger name often appears in the line-up, but a band's live reputation still stands proudly above the number of Instagram followers and other meaningless popularity meters. This driving force earned the festival a Hague Pop Award.
